Kitchen Supervisor

Happy Day Catering is seeking applicants for the position of Kitchen Supervisor. This is a “second-in-command” position to the Kitchen Manager/Executive Chef. The successful applicant will be well-versed in standard kitchen procedures and the running of professional, high-volume kitchens.

Duties will include but are not limited to the following: 
  • Manage daily operations and personnel as assigned or in the absence of the executive chef, 
  • Efficiently prep food, follow recipes, and produce consistent products, 
  • Maintain cleanliness, sanitation standards, and personal hygiene and health standards in the kitchen, 
  • Train and monitor kitchen staff for quality of work, 
  • Ensure kitchen staff complies with all applicable health codes, food prep and storage guidelines, sanitation regulations, and safety procedures, 
  • Keep kitchen motivated and on-time for food departures and daily food prep, 
  • Ensure all products leaving the kitchen meet Happy Day's high standards for taste and presentation, 
  • Assist in managing inventory to ensure freshness, reduce stock, and minimize waste, 
  • Run reports through our catering software, and 
  • Any other relevant task assigned by kitchen manager. 
This is a full-time position, Shifts will vary based on type and volume of events booked. Ability to work weekends is required.

Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Willingness and ability to adhere to Happy Day Catering's standards of excellence 
  • High familiarity with food preparation and current culinary trends and exhibits a solid knowledge of all food products 
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented 
  • Displays leadership skills and must be a self-starter 
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task; must be able to effectively cope with a high-volume or stressful environment 
  • Computer literate and able to learn complex software programs
  • **Access to reliable transportation**
  • Flexible schedule, including Saturdays
  • 1 year of professional kitchen experience
  • 6 months of supervisory or management experience
  • WA State Food Handler Permit required within 14 days of hire. 
  • ID Food Safety Exam certificate required within 14 days of hire. 
  • ServSafe certification preferred
